Tulja Bhavani at Tuljapur and Swami Samarth's math at Akkalkot sit close enough, on either side of Solapur, to cover from Pandharpur in a single two-day loop. The right sequence is Tuljapur first, then Akkalkot, with the night broken at Solapur before the drive home. This guide covers that order with real distances, darshan timings, and where to sleep.
Three legs make up this circuit, and they aren't equal, so the order matters. Pandharpur to Tuljapur runs about 110–114 km, roughly 2–2.5 hours by car.
From Tuljapur, Akkalkot is the short leg — about 70–72 km via Naldurg, under 1.5 hours on a smooth two-lane road. The return, Akkalkot to Pandharpur via Solapur, is close to 100 km, another 2–2.5 hours.
Doing Akkalkot first and Tuljapur second adds roughly 40 km of backtracking through Solapur on the way out. Starting with Tuljapur, dropping down to Akkalkot, and returning via Solapur keeps the whole trip a genuine loop with no leg repeated.
For the fare and vehicle detail on each single leg, our Pandharpur to Tuljapur and Pandharpur to Akkalkot guides cover them individually — this page is about running both as one trip.
| Leg | Distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Pandharpur → Tuljapur | ~110–114 km | ~2–2.5 hrs |
| Tuljapur → Akkalkot (via Naldurg) | ~70–72 km | ~1.5 hrs |
| Akkalkot → Pandharpur (via Solapur) | ~96–110 km | ~2–2.5 hrs |
The Tulja Bhavani temple opens at 4 am and stays open till 10 pm most days, opening as early as 2 am on Sundays and around major festivals. Kakada aarti is at 4:30 am, Dhup aarti at noon, and the evening abhishek begins around 7 pm, closing with Shejarti at 10 pm.
Free darshan queues can run long on weekends. A paid darshan pass, priced roughly ₹100–300, cuts the wait to about 30–60 minutes — book it on the Sansthan's own site, shrituljabhavani.org, not a reseller. Reaching by mid-morning on day one leaves daylight for the Akkalkot leg the same evening.
Akkalkot's temple runs 6 am–12 pm and 4 pm–9 pm, with Kakad aarti at 5 am and Shej aarti between 8 and 8:45 pm. Darshan is free and needs no advance booking — walk in during any open window.
Reaching by early evening on day one lets you catch the Shej aarti before settling in for the night. The math around the temple runs a free Annadan meal service for devotees, useful if the day has run long.
The Tuljapur–Akkalkot road runs through Naldurg, about 35 km from Tuljapur, home to a fort built on a bend of the Bori river. It's a genuine mid-route stop, not a detour — the highway runs past its gate.
Fifteen minutes at the ramparts breaks up the drive without adding real distance. Skip it only if daylight is already short for the Akkalkot evening darshan.
Day one: leave Pandharpur by 6–7 am, reach Tuljapur by mid-morning, take darshan, and pause at Naldurg on the way out. Reach Akkalkot by early evening for the Shej aarti, then move on to Solapur, about 39 km further, to sleep.
Day two: return to Akkalkot for the 6 am opening and Kakad aarti, then drive back to Pandharpur via Solapur, arriving by early afternoon. This keeps both darshans unhurried instead of squeezing them into one long day.
With elders: keep the halt at Solapur, not Akkalkot — wider hotel choice and better facilities if anyone needs rest.
On a budget: skip the Tuljapur paid darshan pass on a weekday; the free queue rarely runs long outside weekends.
On a tight schedule: take Akkalkot's evening darshan on day one and drop the day-two morning return — one darshan per temple is enough for most Yatris.
Avoid: trying both temples in a single day from Pandharpur — the driving alone runs past 6 hours before any queue time.

Solapur is the practical halt — roughly 39 km from Akkalkot and 47 km from Tuljapur, with a far wider spread of hotels than either temple town, from budget lodges to business hotels near the airport. Our where to stay in Solapur guide breaks down areas and options for exactly this halt.
Tuljapur has Bhaktniwas rooms run by the Sansthan plus a handful of private hotels, useful if you want the 4:30 am Kakada aarti without an early drive in. Akkalkot has budget lodges near the temple gate for Yatris who'd rather wake up steps from the 5 am Kakad aarti than drive in from Solapur.
Two loop days, no backtracking — that's what turns a Shakti Peeth and a Swami Samarth math into one clean trip from Pandharpur. Jai Bhavani, Om Sai Ram, Jai Vitthal.
