About this trip

Shani Shingnapur is 85 km from Shirdi — a village famous for its Shani Dev temple that stands under the open sky. There are no roofs on the shrine, and per local tradition, no houses in the village have doors either — a testament to the belief that Shani himself protects the residents. The temple's open-air layout means darshan is quick even on busy days. Men entering the sanctum change into a wet dhoti; women view the deity from the outer platform. The whole trip from Shirdi is comfortable in a half-day. Ideal for pilgrims who want a fast, meaningful darshan without a full-day drive.

FAQs

Do I need to wear a dhoti for the darshan?

Only for the sanctum entry, and only men. The temple provides wet dhotis at the changing area. Women and men who don't want to enter the sanctum can view the deity from the outer platform — same darshan value.

Is Saturday very crowded?

Saturday is Shani's day; the temple sees 3-4x its weekday crowd. If you have flexibility, pick a Tuesday-Thursday for a much lighter visit. Amavasya (new moon) is the other peak day.

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

Per vehicle — a Sedan at ₹2,500 covers up to 4 guests, not ₹2,500 each. Pick the vehicle size that fits your group.

Can we combine this with Shirdi darshan the same day?

Yes. Most pilgrims do this trip in the morning and return in time for the Shirdi noon aarti (11:30 AM). Ask the driver to plan the return around your preferred aarti slot.
