About Trimbakeshwar
Trimbakeshwar is the twelfth and last of the twelve Jyotirlingas, seated at the foot of Brahmagiri — the sacred mountain from which the Godavari river originates. The shivling here is unique: a trimukhi (three-faced) linga representing Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh together. A short walk from the mandir is Kushavarta Kund, the symbolic source of the Godavari and one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. The town also anchors the Trimbakeshwar side of the Nashik Simhastha Kumbh Mela (2027 is the next Kumbh). The mandir is also renowned across India for Kaal Sarp Puja, Narayan Nagbali and Tripindi Shraddha, which pilgrims come specifically to perform.
