How we verify lodges
Every lodge on TripSaffron is visited and photographed by our team before it goes live. Here's exactly what we check โ and what we won't list.
In-person visit before any listing
Unlike aggregator platforms that list properties based on owner self-reports, we visit every lodge in person before accepting it. A team member books an off-peak slot, inspects the property, and speaks to the owner.
If a lodge misrepresents something significant โ capacity, condition, or distance from the temple โ we don't list it.
What we check on the visit
What we won't list
- Lodges without clear ownership documentation or Aadhaar verification.
- Properties that falsely claim distance to the temple (we've measured).
- Anywhere that refuses elderly pilgrims, families with children, or multi-generational groups.
- Lodges under active consumer complaints โ we monitor pilgrim feedback and cross-check with local sources.
- Properties that demand advance payment or charge "mandatory tips" at check-in.
We recheck every 6 months
Verification isn't one-time. Every lodge is re-inspected at least every 6 months. The VERIFIED pill on a lodge card shows the date of the most recent verification. Anything older than 6 months loses the badge until the next visit.
Booking protection
The verification promise extends to your booking. If the lodge misrepresents a material fact (capacity, AC, accessibility) at check-in, we'll:
- Move you to a comparable verified lodge at our cost, or
- Refund 100% of whatever you've paid โ no fine print.
Call our 24/7 WhatsApp helpline and we handle it from your end. You don't have to argue with the owner at 11 PM with elderly parents waiting.
Report a lodge
If a verified lodge misrepresented something on your stay, tell us โ in WhatsApp, email, or the feedback form in your post-yatra dashboard. We act within 48 hours and either re-verify or delist.
