Many Sainagar Shirdi trains run direct — but plenty of Mumbai-side trains stop only at Kopargaon. If your ticket ends at Kopargaon, the real questions start the moment you walk out of the station: where do I go, how much should it cost, and what about a late-night arrival? This is the on-the-ground guide. (If your train terminates at the bigger junction instead, see our Manmad → Shirdi guide.)
Quick facts
Distance: about 15–18 km on a straight highway.
Travel time: 25–35 minutes.
Transport availability: 24×7 — day or night, you’ll find a ride.
The one thing to remember: the going rate is ~₹100 per person in a shared auto or shared taxi. Knowing the number stops anyone from talking you into more.
Arriving late at night? Don't worry.
Plenty of Mumbai-side trains drop pilgrims in Kopargaon between midnight and 4 AM. Shared autos, auto-rickshaws and taxis all run through the night on this route — same ~₹100/person fare. If you'd rather not hunt, ask your hotel for a pick-up; many in Shirdi offer one.
Solo or couple on a budget — shared auto / shared taxi (₹100 per person).
Family, elderly or kids along — a full private taxi.
Late-night arrival — shared auto works fine, or a hotel pick-up if you want zero fuss.
Tightest budget, light traveller — MSRTC bus (only if you’re fine with the bus-stand detour).
Where you’ll get dropped in Shirdi
Most autos and shared taxis drop you near Sai Nagar or Khandoba Chowk — right by the temple area. From there your hotel or stay starts. Tell the driver the hotel name and they’ll usually go a bit further at no extra cost.
