🚩 How do I do Sai Baba’s puja at home? The simplest, right way.
Many devotees want to worship Baba daily, but get stuck on the “vidhi” question — what is the right method, what do I need, how do I do everything properly? The truth is, Baba’s puja is simple. Baba himself said: “Keep Shraddha and Saburi, the rest will follow.”
🙏 The heart of Baba’s puja
First, remember: Baba never asked for elaborate rituals. He spoke only of Shraddha(faith) and Saburi (patience).
If all you have is a single lamp and a picture of Baba — that is enough. Everything else is your convenience, not Baba’s requirement.
🛕 What you need (the basics)
- A picture or murti of Baba
- A clean cloth (yellow or white is preferred)
- A ghee lamp (oil lamp is also fine)
- Agarbatti / dhoop
- Fresh flowers
- Fruit or sweet (banana, apple, peda, laddu — anything)
- Chandan or tilak
🪔 Daily puja — the simple order
- Cleanliness — after your morning bath, clean the puja space and wear clean clothes.
- Asan — place Baba’s picture or murti on the clean cloth.
- Light the lamp — light the ghee or oil lamp. Light the agarbatti.
- Tilak — offer chandan tilak to Baba.
- Offer flowers — place fresh flowers at Baba’s feet.
- Mantra jaap — chant “Om Sai Nathaya Namah” or “Om Sai Ram” 108 times. If time is short, even 11 or 21 is enough.
- Satcharitra paath — read one chapter of Sai Satcharitra a day. This is the most important step — many devotees skip it.
- Naivedya — offer the fruit or sweet to Baba.
- Aarti — perform one aarti. Sai Reham Nazar Karna (the Shej Aarti) is the most common evening choice.
- Share prasad — distribute the offered prasad to your family.
🌟 Why Thursday is special
Thursday is considered Baba’s day. Devotees offer a more elaborate puja on this day. But remember — Baba himself said any day can be his day. Every day you remember him is a special day.
“Shraddha aur Saburi”
(Faith and Patience.)

✨ Baba’s lesson
What matters most is not how grand your puja is — but how true your heart is. Baba loved simplicity. A humble roti, a sincere pranam, a lamp lit with faith — these are the most precious flowers in the world to Baba.
