Everything was well planned
Off the train at Khandwa, darshan at Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar, back at the station the same day.
Car stays with you for the whole trip and drops you back
This plan can be changed to suit your timings.
The driver meets you at Khandwa Junction. The 7:00 AM here is only an example; the pickup is set to your train's arrival. Your luggage goes in the car and stays there all day.
About 70 km from Khandwa, a drive of about 1 hour 45 minutes. The car stops as close as it can, and from there you walk to the ghat.
The temple is on Mandhata island in the Narmada, an island said to be shaped like Om. You reach it on foot across a bridge or by boat from the ghat; the boat ticket is paid there. Keep about 2 to 2.5 hours for this temple and Mamleshwar together on an ordinary day.
Mamleshwar Temple is on the south bank, across the river from the main temple. Many Yatris hold that the Jyotirlinga darshan is complete only after both.
A little time on the ghat by the Narmada. From here you see the 108-foot statue of Adi Shankaracharya, the Statue of Oneness, on the hill; it was unveiled in 2023.
Lunch in Omkareshwar at a place of your choice. Meals are paid by you.
Omkareshwar to Khandwa is about 70 km, a drive of about 1 hour 45 minutes.
Drop at Khandwa Junction with your luggage, where the trip ends.
