Narayan Nagbali is a 3-day ancestral pooja performed only at Trimbakeshwar, and it can only happen on specific dates the Panchang marks as valid. If you're planning it — either for Pitru Dosh, unresolved family issues, or ancestral peace — the first thing to figure out is which date works. Here's every valid muhurat from now to the end of 2026, what makes a date valid, and what the pooja actually costs.
Every date below is a Panchang-verified 3-day window starting on that day. You arrive the evening before, the pooja begins next morning.

Pitru dosh + sarpa dosh — 3-day Vedic ritual
₹8,300 · 3 days · Stay included
Not every calendar day works — the Panchang rules out a lot. A valid Narayan Nagbali muhurat needs:
The right Tithi (lunar day) — most Panchami, Ekadashi, and specific mid-month tithis are avoided.
The right Nakshatra — some like Ashlesha, Magha, and Jyeshtha are actively favoured; others are forbidden.
No overlap with an eclipse or major inauspicious combination (Bhadra kaal, Vyatipata).
The starting weekday matters — Tuesday, Friday and Sunday are traditionally preferred; Monday and Thursday are also common.
This is why our calendar shows some months with 11 dates and others with just 6 — it's not availability, it's the Panchang.
Narayan Nagbali is a 3-day ritual — you can't do it in one day and you can't shorten it:
Day 1 — Sankalp + Narayan Bali. Vow-taking, Godavari snan at Kushavart Ghat, and the Narayan Bali portion (for unresolved ancestral debts).
Day 2 — Nagbali. The main serpent-related portion (for Nag Dosh and ancestral serpents).
Day 3 — Poornahuti + tarpan. Final oblation, ancestor tarpan, brahmin bhojan.
Plan to arrive at Trimbakeshwar by evening of the day before your muhurat. Total time on the ground: about 3.5 days.
The verified TripSaffron pandit rate is ₹7,500 for the full 3-day pooja including:
Complete puja samagri (nothing separate to buy)
Sankalp + Godavari snan + Narayan Bali + Nagbali + Poornahuti
Brahmin bhojan on Day 3
One-on-one guidance from the pandit throughout
What's not included: your stay in Trimbakeshwar, food outside the brahmin bhojan, and offerings you choose to add (like dakshina, extra samagri).

Pitru dosh + sarpa dosh — 3-day Vedic ritual
₹8,300 · 3 days · Stay included
Narayan Nagbali is one of a small handful of poojas the shastras say must be done at Trimbakeshwar — specifically at the confluence of the Godavari at Kushavart Ghat. The ritual involves Godavari snan and tarpan at Kushavart, so it can't be transplanted to another temple town.
Related poojas at Trimbakeshwar that share the same location logic: Kaal Sarp Dosh Nivaran, Tripindi Shraddha, Pitru Dosh Nivaran. If you're not sure which one applies to your situation, ask the pandit — a short WhatsApp exchange usually settles it.
Trimbakeshwar is about 30 km from Nashik and roughly 200 km from Mumbai / Pune. Most families:
Fly or train to Nashik Road (NSK) or Mumbai and take a taxi.
Or drive if they're within Maharashtra.
Reach your hotel by evening of the day before your muhurat — the pooja starts early morning and you don't want to be arriving that morning.
Stay within walking distance of Kushavart Ghat — the pooja involves multiple visits to the ghat over the 3 days, and cab-hailing 5 times a day is exhausting.
Book at least 2 weeks ahead for weekend dates or Pitru Paksha (Sept–Oct); 3–4 days is enough for weekday muhurats in off-season months.
Bring simple cotton clothes (no black), and one pair for the ghat (they'll get wet).
Fasting rules are moderate — vegetarian food only during the 3 days, no onion/garlic.
Skip Nagbali if a birth or death has happened in the family within 45 days (asaucha).
One family, one pooja — Narayan Nagbali is done by the head of the family on behalf of everyone; you don't need to book separately for each member.
Every Narayan Nagbali booked through TripSaffron is performed by a verified Trimbakeshwar pandit who has done the ritual for years. WhatsApp us and we confirm your date, pandit, and guidance in an hour. No advance payment; you settle with the pandit on Day 1 at Trimbakeshwar.
If Narayan Nagbali has been on your list, the Panchang has already done the hard part — the dates are set. Pick one that fits your travel window, keep 3 clear days plus a night before, and let the ritual do what it's meant to do. 🚩
