Surat to Shirdi — Bus, Cab, Train & Flight Guide (2026)

Planning a yatra from Surat to Shirdi? Shirdi is a hugely popular destination for devotees from Gujarat — and from Surat, the distance is much shorter than from Ahmedabad, so an overnight bus is usually enough. This guide will help you pick the right mode.

Surat to Shirdi is about 300–340 km by road. Because the distance is short, you can reach Shirdi in a single overnight journey.

All the options at a glance

  • Bus — 7 to 9 hours (the most popular option)
  • Cab / car — 6 to 7 hours (fastest direct option)
  • Train (via Mumbai / Kopargaon) — 10 to 12 hours
  • Flight — non-stop options are limited; via Mumbai
Bus
MOST POPULAR
By far the most popular route from Surat to Shirdi — 71+ buses run daily, with Volvo, AC sleeper and semi-sleeper services across the board. Travel time 7–9 hours; regular buses from ₹300, AC sleeper ₹600–900, premium Volvo ₹1,500+. Boarding points include Adajan Patiya, Central Bus Stand, Delhi Gate and Kamrej. Most buses leave between 8–11 PM and reach Shirdi by 4–6 AM the next morning. Take the overnight Volvo AC sleeper — you reach Shirdi fresh in the morning. Maharaja Paulo Travels, Raj Travels Express and New Lucky Travels are well-known operators on this route.
Cab / own car
FASTEST
If you’re travelling as a family, have elders along, or want to stop along the way — a cab or your own car is the most direct and fastest option. Travel time 6–7 hours (traffic-dependent); one-way cab fare from about ₹6,500. The route runs via Nashik straight to Shirdi. The biggest advantage of driving is the freedom to stop on your own schedule — it’s the easiest mode with kids or elders. Just plan two drivers or a short halt in Nashik so the drive doesn’t feel long.
Train
CHEAPEST
No direct train from Surat to Sainagar Shirdi. Two practical paths: (1) Surat → Mumbai train, then Mumbai → Sainagar Shirdi (~10–12 hours total including the connection). (2) Surat → Kopargaon train; from Kopargaon, Shirdi is 15–18 km — shared auto or taxi costs about ₹100 per person. Fares are cheap (₹250–1,500) but the direct overnight bus is usually more convenient.
Flight
FLEXIBLE
Non-stop flights from Surat to Shirdi are limited and expensive. Most devotees route via Mumbai — but since the road distance is short, fewer people pick flight on this corridor. If saving time is critical: Surat → Mumbai flight + Mumbai → Shirdi direct flight or car (about 4–5 hours total).

Which route is right for you?
