Yes, you can take darshan at Grishneshwar, Trimbakeshwar and Bhimashankar from Shirdi in four days by taxi, sleeping at Verul, Trimbak and Bhimashankar. The loop runs east, then west, then south, and back to Shirdi by midday on day four. Here is what each day actually looks like, and why the order matters.
Drive times are approximate, for normal traffic rather than festival days.
| Day | Route | Drive time | Darshan | Night halt |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shirdi → Shani Shingnapur → Verul | about 4.5 h | Shani Shingnapur, Grishneshwar, Ellora Caves | Verul or Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar |
| 2 | Verul → Nashik → Trimbak | about 4 h 45 min | Panchavati temples, Ramkund aarti | Trimbakeshwar |
| 3 | Trimbak → Sinnar → Manchar → Bhimashankar | about 5.5 h with lunch | Trimbakeshwar at dawn, Bhimashankar | Bhimashankar |
| 4 | Bhimashankar → Manchar → Shirdi | about 3 h | Optional dawn darshan or Gupt Bhimashankar | Home |
Day 1 has the easiest temples, day 2 is the lightest drive, day 3 is the long one, and day 4 is a short run home. Nobody is asked to do a pre-dawn darshan and an eight-hour drive on the same day.
Your driver collects you from your Shirdi hotel at 6:00 AM. The first stop is Shani Shingnapur, about 70 km and roughly an hour and a half away, where you take darshan and breakfast. From there the road runs to Verul through Newasa and Gangapur, about three hours.
You reach Grishneshwar around 12:30 PM. It is the gentlest darshan of the trip:
A level walk from the parking, no steps to climb.
Usually the shortest queue of the three, though weekends and Shravan can still mean a wait of one to three hours.
Men remove their shirts before entering the sanctum, so wear something easy to take off.
At about 2:30 PM you go on to the Ellora Caves next door for roughly two and a half hours, centred on the Kailasa temple carved from a single rock. The Indian ticket is ₹40, and children under 15 go free. Our Ellora guide from Shirdi covers which caves to prioritise.
This is the easiest day. You leave Verul at 7:00 AM and drive to Nashik via Vaijapur and Yeola, about four hours, arriving around 1:00 PM.
Panchavati is compact and every stop is walkable:
Ramkund — the sacred bathing ghat on the Godavari.
Kapaleshwar Mahadev — a Shiva temple with no Nandi in front.
Kalaram Mandir — the black-stone Rama temple.
Sita Gufa — a narrow cave you enter bent over.
Stay for the evening aarti at the ghats, then leave around 6:30 PM for Trimbak, about 30 km and 45 minutes away. Our Panchavati Nashik guide has more on each temple.
This is the day the whole route is built around. Trimbakeshwar is the busiest of the three Jyotirlingas. On weekdays the wait is often 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, and on weekends, Mondays and in Shravan it can run two to four hours.
Because you slept in Trimbak, you join the queue at 6:00 AM, soon after the temple opens. The dawn line is a fraction of the mid-morning one. Add Kushavarta Kund, the source tank of the Godavari, a few minutes' walk away.
More detail is in our guide to the best time of day at Trimbakeshwar.
By 9:00 AM you are driving south through Sinnar, Sangamner and Manchar, about five and a half hours including lunch. The last stretch is a narrow forest ghat, and leaving Trimbak early means you drive it in daylight.
You reach Bhimashankar around 2:30 PM for darshan in your registered slot. Remember that the temple sits below the parking: a long flight of steps down, and the same flight back up.
There is no rush on the last morning. You can take a second, quieter darshan at dawn, or walk through the forest to Gupt Bhimashankar, a small shrine by a stream.
At about 9:00 AM the car heads back through Manchar and Sangamner, roughly three hours, and drops you at your Shirdi hotel around midday.
Three reasons the loop runs this way:
Bhimashankar is a dead end. One road goes in and the same road comes out. Placed in the middle, you would drive the ghat twice.
No road is driven twice. East to Verul, west to Nashik, south to Bhimashankar, north-east home.
Dawn Trimbakeshwar needs the Trimbak night. Arrive from Nashik the evening before and the busiest temple becomes the shortest wait.
A three-day version exists: merge days 3 and 4 and drive straight back from Bhimashankar. That means about 8.5 hours of driving on the last day and reaching Shirdi around 9 PM. The fourth day exists to avoid exactly that.
With elders: take all four days. Day 3 has the Bhimashankar steps; ending with a long night drive is the wrong finish.
On a tight schedule: the three-day version works if everyone is fit and you accept a late return.
On a budget: four days still costs one car; you save by booking simple rooms near each temple.
Adding more: Ajanta Caves adds a day and a night (Ajanta is closed on Mondays). Saptashrungi at Vani fits on Day 2 if you leave Verul at first light, adding about 2.5 hours.

Rooms are not included in the package, so book them yourself, and book Bhimashankar first. It has the fewest and most basic rooms, and they go early on weekends and in Shravan.
Night 1: Verul for a quiet evening near the caves, or Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for more choice.
Night 2: Trimbakeshwar town, close enough to walk to the temple before 6 AM.
Night 3: Bhimashankar, near the temple, for the Day 3 darshan and an optional dawn visit.
Dates to avoid: Shravan Mondays, Mahashivratri (6 March 2027), and the Shravan month itself (roughly 3–31 August 2027). The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh is widely reported for August–September 2027 (not yet officially notified), which will make the Trimbak and Ramkund days extremely crowded.
